“He has established himself as one of West Brom’s best and most dependable attacking wide players.” — Ali Maxwell

Tom Fellows

West Bromwich Albion — Championship, 2023/24:

  • Born: 25 July 2003

  • Position: Winger

  • League Appearances: 33

  • League Starts: 14

🤝 Good lad; outstanding Fellows

Every football club in the EFL wants a wide player who is dribbly, quick, with an eye for an incisive pass and versatile enough to pose a threat on either wing. Luckily for West Brom — OK, maybe not by luck but development — they have Tom Fellows.

The 20-year-old has flown the nest of WBA’s academy and migrated to the first team, where the waters – which can be choppy for a young player coming into a side who are vying for a play-off place – turned out to be pretty balmy.

Fellows hasn’t started the majority of games. But his pace, directness and goal threat have not been the work of mere glimpses and flashes. No! Four goals and three assists rubber-stamped his breakthrough season and sign-posted the onlookers to scan the horizon for a bright future.

📈 At a glance

Pizza charts informed by match data. Each chart rates a chosen player from 0-99 across different metrics (e.g. Dribbles) according to their “percentile rank”. A 75 score shows a player outperforming 75% of other players in the dataset. Each dataset is position-specific. Negative metrics are reversed. [Credit: Riley Roberts.]
