“There aren't many players of his age who can sustain that level of performance playing up top in the Championship” — Ali Maxwell
Tommy Conway
Bristol City – Championship, 2023/24:
Born: 6 August 2002
Position: Striker
League appearances: 39
League starts: 27
💣 Primed and ready to explode
Conway retains his place from last year’s list, following a season in which he reached double figures for league goals and impressed in FA Cup games against top-flight teams. Who scored Bristol City’s equaliser against West Ham at the ‘London’ Stadium? Conway. Who scored the replay’s only goal? Conway. He impressed twice against Nottingham Forest, too.
That helped to put the 21-year-old forward on a few more radars, and he’ll be a target this summer. With one year remaining on his contract and 80-odd Championship appearances under his belt, he could be a canny pick-up for a club that can exploit his abilities better than Bristol City (19th in the league for key passes last term).
That includes clubs north of the border. Might the Somerset-born Scotland U21 international – the Taunton Tartan – be tempted by a chance to impress senior boss Steve Clarke while playing in the Scottish Premiership?

Pizza charts informed by match data. Each chart rates a chosen player from 0-99 across different metrics (e.g. Dribbles) according to their “percentile rank”. A 75 score shows a player outperforming 75% of other players in the dataset. Each dataset is position-specific. Negative metrics are reversed. [Credit: Riley Roberts.]
