AM: There is a week to go until the league season begins, but first comes something a little novel: the first round of the Carabao Cup this weekend. Has this unusual scheduling changed your plans this year?

NJ: No. We treat this as the first competitive game and always work backwards from there, usually with a six-week lead-in, so we’ve just had to adjust.
