Huw Davies: If I had to describe all of the moves in this latest bulletin using just one word, it would be: eclectic. Several of these transfers share certain traits, but there are more different themes here than The Wire got through in five seasons of opening credits (so, six).

Cardiff and Hull, way down in the hole, have each decided that signing a big striker for a big fee will keep them in the Championship. Oxford and Millwall have elected for a big CB instead. Sweet reunions are another theme, not just at Sheffield United but for Gareth Ainsworth at Shrewsbury and Lee Bell at Crewe.

We also have not one but two National League midfielders jumping two steps to League One, and finally my personal favourite: Old Buggers Getting Nice Moves. Here’s to you, Messrs Hanley, Shelvey and Amrabat. I’ll fetch you a hot cocoa.

It’s been another busy few days, all right. Welcome to Done Deals.
