Every day from Tuesday to Saturday, NTT20.COM writes-up and rates every single signing in the Championship, League One, and League Two.
Contributors include: Ali Maxwell, George Elek, Sam Parry, Huw Davies, Riley Roberts, Matt Watts, Craig Bradley, Gab Sutton and Luke “LouOrns” McKenzie.
There’s plenty of green amongst today’s ratings. Clearly some of us have woken up on the right side of the bed.
And first up, Huw Davies is handling the headliner…
🔴 Gavin Bazunu (GK) - [Southampton - Stoke] - Loan
Availability: that most useful quality. Mark Robins said Stoke had to “act decisively” and “quickly” in response to Viktor Johansson’s shoulder injury – Tommy Simkin has kept three consecutive clean sheets in his absence but faced just three shots on target – and Bazunu is fresh from making 19 Championship appearances this season. Johansson has been inarguably one of the division’s best goalkeepers in recent years, so Bazunu has big gloves to fill.
We have to tread carefully here, because a difficult few years following such a bright start to his career means it has become almost fashionable now to dunk on Bazunu. He had great promise. At 23, maybe he still does.
