In this week’s Bonus Bulletin, we have to recognise the fact that Things Are Happening when it comes to the Championship’s relegated Premier League sides (West Ham, Wolves, Burnley) adding premium quality to their squad.
West Ham have completed the loan signing of Joël Piroe, who won the Golden Boot the last time he played at this level. He has scored 22 more Championship goals than any other player since he joined the division in 2021.
He’s not the perfect player, but the idea of Piroe playing off the aggressive, physical striker Taty Castellanos, with Jarrod Bowen on the right and Manor Solomon on the left? That feels appropriately scary for the rest of the division. It makes you wonder how they’ll find room for Divine Mukasa, who has come in on loan as well.
