Japhet Tanganga (CB) - [Millwall - Sheffield United] - Undisclosed (reported £7.5m rising to £10m)

This transfer has been in the pipeline for so long that it seemed as if Millwall might just hold on to Tanganga after all. Ultimately, though, the truth will out. For 18 months, he’s been one of the Championship’s best defenders and Sheffield United have finally made him theirs.

In those 18 months, the Spurs academy product has proven himself to be not just talented but far more level-headed and rounded as a player than he previously had been. He’s hard to beat, has become as adept at winning fouls as he is at winning duels, appears capable of playing as either a front-footed defender or in a more circumspect role, and provides more of a goal threat from set pieces — potentially handy, as Blades have the highest xG from dead-ball situations in the league.
