EFL Transfer Bulletin #3 – Stoke swoop for Sorba Thomas, Swansea sign Santos, and is the 15-goal big man a Schu-in for Bolton?
The latest done deals in the EFL, and in focus: Stoke sign Sorba Thomas.
Sam Parry: In today’s letter, we’ve got a postman which, frankly, makes a lot of sense. We have a bagsman who helped haul Dundee United up the SPFL charts. A handful of big men. And one Small-by-name-but-not-by-expectation-man.
Since the last bulletin, there have been 16 new signings, bringing the running total to 76. And we really are running now. If you want to keep up to speed with everything happening in the EFL, you've found your tribe.

File this under Sensible Transfers, Efficiently Done: rather than have his future in question all summer, Huddersfield have moved Thomas on quickly to free up wages, while Stoke have beaten the rush to snap him up on a three-year deal. If indeed there was a rush – it's not certain how much the winger's star has fallen in the eyes of Championship recruiters since his impressive breakthrough in 2021/22. After that came a fairly bland Blackburn spell and then relegation with the Terriers, followed by a loan to Ligue 1 Nantes, where Thomas was in and out of the team.
