The Summer Transfer Bulletin is brought to you by Ali Maxwell, George Elek, Huw Davies, Sam Parry, Craig Bradley and Matt Watts. The introduction is by Sam Parry.

There are two types of people in this world…

Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data sets...

…Right then. There’s a way to go until the window closes. Plenty of business to be done. We’re into a new swing of things now that the season has started. With Weekend Notes taking the Monday slot, our Summer Transfer Bulletin is now weekly on Wednesdays – and twice as long.

But you’ll find no half-measures here. NTT20.COM is still covering every EFL signing, and there are just 16 days to go until that summer data set is complete.

Championship

Anthony Racioppi (GK) - [Young Boys - Hull] - Undisclosed

Is there anything more confusing than Hull’s goalkeeping department? Ivor Pandur is signed in January, seemingly to replace Ryan Allsop, then doesn’t feature even once. Allsop leaves and Pandur, 24, plays the opening match of 2024/25, while in Thimothée Lo-Tutala and Harvey Cartwright, Hull also have two young keepers who enjoyed great League Two loans last season. Then they sign a new goalkeeper: former Swiss U21 international Anthony Racioppi. What’s the plan here?

Racioppi surely comes in as #1. The 25-year-old has Champions League experience and crucially plays the role of goalkeeper-as-a-third-centre-back — perfect for Tim Walter’s ‘heart attack football’.

Finley Burns (CB) - [Manchester City - Hull] - Loan

Having made 37 appearances for Stevenage in League One last season, Finley Burns makes the step up to the Championship. The centre-back played a lot as a holding midfielder for Stevenage, but there’s no doubt that the 6ft5 Manchester City youngster is here to step into the rather large shoes of Jacob Greaves.

Liam Millar (LW) - [Basel - Hull] - Undisclosed

The dribbly Canadian scored Preston’s 2023/24 goal of the season while on loan from Basel, with a beautiful late winner against Leeds on Boxing Day. Ryan Lowe being wedded to 3-5-2 meant that Millar played most of his minutes at LWB, which wasn’t ideal, but he was still a threat. He should contribute plenty to Hull’s attack, and has already shown his quality in a 30-minute cameo on opening day.

Micah Hamilton (LW) - [Manchester City - Middlesbrough] - Undisclosed
