There will have been plenty of football fans surprised by the news coming out of Carrow Road this morning. Just 12 hours after his team were unceremoniously dumped out of the Championship play-offs, David Wagner has been unceremoniously dumped by Norwich City.
The fact that they didn’t win the tie against Leeds is fairly unsurprising, and even the manner of the 4-0 defeat reflects what we saw over the course of the season, in that Leeds are just a much better side than Norwich. But, in truth, the events of last night likely had little to do with this morning’s decision, or rather a decision that was probably made weeks or even months ago.
