Welcome to Weekend Notes.

We have 15 games to share with you: 11 in League Two and just four in League One. What do you mean, the international break sucks? Say that to Wigan’s Thelo Aasgaard, who just scored his first goal for Norway’s under-21s, or to the three League One players – Regan Poole, Joe Low and Charlie Savage – who made their senior debuts for Wales during their international mini-retirements.

But back to our bread and butter: League Two kept up its end of the bargain as usual with 40 goals, despite Morecambe v Crawley being called off. Nearly half of the fixtures had five goals in them. League One, meanwhile, featured seven goals across four games. Keep this up, League One, and we’ll stick you on the end instead.

Fortunately, a shortage of goals doesn’t mean a shortage of drama…

  2. Juicy Tangerines olé their way to victory. Sound. On.

  3. “Send the dirty git off!” Gills Gaffer Dismissed For 50/50 Challenge

  4. A curly pearler kickstarts Isaac Hutchinson’s first senior hat-trick

  5. Whack it, Whalley!
